While most people talk about bringing the outdoors in, I am going to try to bring the indoors out. I love my Horrockses Betty bedlinen so much that I have decided to fill my (small but pretty) garden with pansies so I can enjoy them this summer and bring a bit of colour to my back yard. There is something about pansies that brings a smile to my face; I think it’s the mix of colours you can create combined with the soft delicate shape.

Pansies are one of the UK’s all time favourite flowering plants. There’s an enormous range of varieties available in a full spectrum of colours, not to mention all of their face-like markings, different sizes and forms. I’m going to follow a simple growing guide and have chosen the traditional and popular Colourburst variety. You can really let your taste for colour run riot!

We had a chat with the very talented Kelly Weech about the trend for vintage styled weddings….just gorgeous!
There is a real trend for all things vintage, from home accessories to weddings. What do you think is driving this trend and why has it become so popular? I think people like the homely, quaint and nostalgic appeal of vintage accessories and fashion. It reminds us of an era when products were handmade and not mass produced. It was a very imposing shop and very upmarket for me in those days. The price was verging on the prohibitive side. Continue reading or leave a comment

“I fell in love with 40s and 50s clothes at a very young age as all the my maiden auntie’s would give me their old dresses to dress up in. Then at 14 I started to wear the dresses going out and just loved them. Also I was a big Roxy music fan and I still am, and the girl’s look was 40s/50s glamour.

Queen Elizabeth II is without doubt the most high profile person to ever wear Horrockses Fashions gowns and day dresses.
To commemorate the Diamond Jubilee we are offering 5 lucky people the chance to win a limited edition silk head scarf or cushion. Both prizes feature a Horrockses fashions design of tiny pink roses on a yellow stripe, taken from a dress worn by The Queen. The cushion also features an image of her Majesty wearing this Horrockses Fashions dress whilst on her Commonwealth tour in 1954.
